After visiting the Tate Liverpool we found these giant "WOW"balls outside the gallery the boy's had a great time inside them. After leaving Liverpool we headed on up the coast to visit Crosby beach and see the Antony Gormley statues "Another Place" which were pretty amazing and looked fantastic spread across the beach and into the sea the work is said to represent individual and universal sentiments on emigration, sadness at leaving but the hope of a new future in another place. The picture at the top is The Dream a statue by Spanish artist Jaume Plesna which overlooks the M62 motorway, we saw a programme on the making of the statue a few months ago and wanted to see it. We saw it briefly on the way to Liverpool and decided to stop on our way back home. It has been placed on the site of the former Sutton Manor Colliery and was commisioned by ex- miners as part of the Channel 4's Big Art Project...It's Amazing!!..x

Liverpool visit

Visited the city of Liverpool recently, we havn't been for a few years now and was very suprised at how amazing it looked. We were there to visit the Tate Liverpool to see the Picasso exhibition-"Picasso -Peace and Freedom" which was amazing! But whilst there we stumbled upon another exhibition "DLI Piper series: This is Sculpture" which was fantastic, it includeed works by Edgar Degas, Andy Warhol, Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Sir Jacob Epstein, Henry Moore, Henri Matisse, Arman, Richard Long, and Jeff Koons among others and most definately worth a visit. Some are above along with pictures of the city of Liverpool, including the docks where my not so distant relatives the Sweeney's arrived from Ireland, and my husbands relatives set of to America...x

As I have mentioned before my husband Andy is a photographer and above is a job he did 2 days ago of a Fire Eater. I love them...x
I love reading, I read soooooo many books from romance
novels to Art books, poetry, Anton Chekhov, Photography books, the Classics, at the moment to my husbands disgust
I am reading Love by Design by Nora Roberts. My husbands Aunt
is in a book club and sends me all the books she is given which I then send back and around they go . Love by Design so far is run of the mill romance novel : girl rents house, owner returns unaware she is renting it , he lets her stay, she falls for him ....I am not overly impressed but I will carry on reading it.x

What a Wonderful day today beautiful sunny weather you would think we were in the south of France instead of lovely Marple Bridge.
Today as with most weekends this month we had a fabulous BBQ cooked by Andy.
We are all looking forward to the England V Germany match tomorrow afternoon but a more important event is Oliver playing in a Cricket match for Romiley U11's in the morning at Prestbury Cricket Club
I love being in the garden with my family at weekends there is nothing better.... x
